Having viewed Ritson in person and the video several times, I believe he delivers strong points about Social Media. For those who weren’t so distracted by Ritson’s style and interpreted agenda, they realized that Digital and Social are different. He believes there’s a place for PPC. Digital display ads have abhorrent CTRs. A disproportionate amount of attention is misplaced on Social Media. Ritson supports his position with statistics and simply cautions how marketers spend their money. Biased to the end of garnering more speaking gigs is insulting to a man with significant and respectable credentials. That’s the type of mindset that makes it understandable why retailers piss away their marketing funds in the appropriate direction they see as justifiable. Ignoring Ritson’s research and focusing on hating makes me wonder what cloud some people live on.

The biggest positive I got out of this video was finally viewing a properly shot conference video that split screens the speaker with their slide deck:)
