Write a short email telling the journalist or editor you’re targeting what you love about their work. Maybe it’s a recent article or a particular style of interview/writing that’s uniquely theirs.

Write a one-sentence description of your company and the products/services offered.

Offer to treat the journalist/editor to a quick lunch near their office or to bring coffee to them for a quick deskside appointment. Include three time/date options roughly 3 weeks out.

If the journalist/editor follows up, then you “pitch” your business in person. It’s all about building the relationship for the long-term.
