Wow! what an eye-opener. i was looking these days to increase traffic because i have a 10% conversion rate and i was afraid to ruin my sales earnings. but i think i can do more to increase conversions.

Unreal, love this. Roy Williams is a smart cookie. His presentation is amazing, if you ever get a chance to see him live do it. You’ll learn a lot. Bring a piece of paper or something to jot down notes.
On another note, conversion rate is a much better tell of success online than pure traffic. This post was a great wakeup call.

More and more people are saying this lately, but I think the key lies in the middle. Sure, you can have all the traffic in the world and not make a dime if it doesn’t convert. But at the same time, you can’t learn to improve your conversions if you don’t have traffic first to make mistakes with. I tell people to try and have a balanced internet diet and split their efforts between traffic and conversions equally,..at least in the beginning until they can develop a steady flow of traffic. Then all efforts should definitely be shifted to conversions.
