This clearly hasn't been reflected in their search strategy, perhaps just creating a simple targeted page on their domain would be all it took, but taking it further they could have done press releases and even created supporting content to make sure it is ranked.

I needed toner for my discontinued Lexmark printer (which they sold) . doing a search for "Lexmark x500n" had no results. Searching their site via google found it http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?edc

you'd think they'd want to sell more $130 toners (shown in the printer supplies section)? I pointed this out a year ago when I couldn't find it then either…

This is where the smaller guys can get in a steal the sale. The huge brands are often too large to capture these issues, however smaller companies rely on every sale to pay the bills. that's not always the case of course, there are some shocking small companies and some great large companies, like Amazon…
